Hi! I'm Courtney Slaughter

I started PAWSome Pet Sitting in 2015 to provide a range of loving and reliable pet care options to the “pet parents” of Bloomington and surrounding areas.

With 3 dogs and 4 chinchillas of my own, I know it can be difficult to leave our pets during the day without access to a potty break, and even more stressful to leave them for travel.
Asking family/friends/coworkers for ‘favors’ while we’re out of town often doesn’t cut it. (And why haven’t they sent me an update all week??)

That’s where the professional pet lovers come in! 🙂

My mission is to make sure that your furry family is as happy and comfortable as they can possibly be so that you can go to work or travel without guilt. And to keep you updated at every visit.

And to pet as many new furry ones as possible.

It’s probably the best job in the world.

Amanda Kelly

Hi there!

I’m Amanda Kelly and I started pet sitting with PAWSome in November 2017.

I grew up on a horse farm with a menagerie of animals, including alpacas, llamas, dogs, cats, donkeys (miniature and regular size), the occasional pig or goat, a zonkey (zebra-donkey hybrid), and even a camel! I was the designated “cat tamer” whenever anyone would drop off unwanted cats at our farm, and our dogs were some of my best friends and most trusted confidants.

I worked as a social worker for several years before realizing that my true calling is caring for animals. I’ve lived with my tortie cat Oni since 2013. She demands to be the center of attention so she is an only cat-child for now. She’s got that infamous tortie-tude. 🙂

I enjoy meeting new animal friends and getting to know them, as each one is unique with different personalities, preferences, and attitudes. I hope that someday I’ll get to meet your furbaby and make sure they are well taken care of while you are away!

Mariangella (Mari) Consiglieri

Hello everyone! My name is Mariangella (Mari) Consiglieri, and I am currently a student completing my Master’s program in Social Work. I am from Indianapolis, IN, and I am looking forward to meeting & spending time with your pets!

I have a cat of my own named Edward, I assist with the 2 family dogs in Indianapolis, and I grew up having experience with various types of pets. At one time, we had fish, a hamster, a rabbit, a guinea pig, and parakeets – imagine that!

I am so excited to get to know your pets! Leaving them behind can be difficult; I know I miss my cat when I am just gone for a few hours for work. My job is to put your mind at ease with adorable photo updates and make sure your pets receive all the love they deserve!

Rebecca Stewart

Hi! My name is Rebecca Stewart. I’ve been caring for pets with PAWSome since 2021 and have loved every minute of it!

I grew up surrounded by our family pets including dogs, cats, rats, mice, fish and sometimes foster kitties!

I’ve lived in north, central, and now southern Indiana. One thing that remains consistent wherever I go is my love for animals. I now live in Bloomington with my husband and our two amazing pups, Appa and Winston. I spend as much time as I can playing and cuddling with them! When I’m not doing that, I’m tending to my plant collection, procuring a good cup of coffee or bird watching!

I believe that our pets are our family members and each animal is a special and unique being with special and unique needs. My promise is to treat your furbaby with just as much love, respect, and care as I do my own. I understand the stress of leaving a pet at home and the importance of having care you can trust. I love working at PAWSome and being able to provide that care!

I cannot wait to meet (and pet) all of the pets!

Shelly Dodson

Hi! My name is Shelly. Growing up I loved spending time with our myriad of dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, and birds. I have taken care of animals my whole life from littles to golden oldies. I began as a pet sitter with PAWSome in 2023 and am the Administrative Assistant.

My goal is to make sure your furry family members are taken care of as if they were one of my own – which is loved and spoiled! My experience includes positive reinforcement training techniques, finding the best ways to engage animals, and keep them well-loved and cared for. Many of my clients have called me an animal whisperer because I am able to build a strong rapport and relationship with animals who have experienced trauma and those who have a harder time trusting new people. No matter what you need, I’m here for you!

I also enjoy reading modern cozy mysteries, rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, baking, and hiking with my feisty Border Collie Ami.
